Win7codecs disables WMV DirectX hardware acceleration in WMP

On the Perfomance tab in WMP 12's options, it has an option to enable DirectX hardware accleration for WMV's. Whenever I unisntall/reinstall Win7codecs, it gets unchecked again. Any reason why?

Also, I made a post earlier and now it's gone. Er?

That performance box is reported by many users to cause playback problrms,
so yes, my software installation unchecks it.

I know nothing of an earlier post.
