RE: Windows 8 OS Problems
(03-07-2012 08:28 AM)HD-False Wrote: If you had executed a clean reinstall of windows 8 CP, then brings Window 8 CP a proprietary driver for NVIDIA graphics cards and you should test it first, before you download and test a new driver (e.g. a Windows 8 or the new Beta drivers from NVIDIA). Many thanks. Yeah, I'm forced to be doing that now, exactly. Also I called the computer's customer service for some advice, they say so far no computer manufacturers acknowledged this new Windows 8, no tech support because they found similar issues, too. Therefore they can't help me with the graphics driver, only suggesting me I should get Win 7 back. ![]() You know I'm no adept of computer techniques. What driver did you choose for 8? NVIDIA? What version? So like you said, you had to run some tests for the driver? I'm gonna format C and try it again. But most of my problems did occur as well during the last days of my Windows 7, compatibility issue between K lite and Win7codecs, stuttering using Win7codecs, thumbnail mess-up, except for the thing bothers me most -- the gridy stuff. I really appreciate your help. I know this probably shouldn't be an appropriate topic here. I want to ask you guys to check your screen display very carefully again: I installed an older NVIDIA version and the grid lines seem to have gone, but it didn't. The size of each "cell" just becomes smaller, but still bigger than a pixel. The grid is barely noticeable, but if you look really closely, stare at it for a while, you'd see. I mean that's my case. Try a black background and look deeper, I can't notice the cells in the taskbar, or browser's address bar, either. I chose "blush" for Windows color. Can't find them on desktop, either, even though it's a dark picture. But it seemingly gets a little more obvious at the awkward-blue Start page. |
