Windows Media Center not playing FLV files
Installed the Shark007 Codec7 v3.60 package this morning. I can get the flv files to play in Windows Media Player, but cannot get Windows Media Center to recognize and/or play my flv files. I must be missing something fundamental in the setup/associations of Windows Media Center, which is my main entertainment interface. I've tried the search feature on the forum, but have come up short with any answers. Any help appreciated.

I have run the Shark007 settings program as an administrator and pressed on the Help TAB button to associate filetypes, third time just now. The Shark007 dialog box states that the files have been associated with "Windows Media Player", which I know because the files do play in Windows Media Player. However, when I try to access those same files from Windows Media Center, it shows the flv files (blank icon) in the directory but will not play them giving me "Cannot Play Video" error box. For some reason, the filetypes are not/have not been associated inside the Windows Media Center. Also, I have restarted my computer after each time I ran the Help TAB, associate filetypes to Windows players. But it makes no difference and Windows Media Center does not associate the filetypes like it should. The Shark007 codec instructions seemed simple enough to follow for the install, but for some reason, Windows Media Center is not picking up the filetype assocations even though Windows Media Player works fine. Which is why I am confused. |

RE: Windows Media Center not playing FLV files
If your operating system is 64bit you also need to install the x64Components
