Hi, can't find a similar post in this forum. I recently burned some video files to a dvd in vob dvd compliant format, and tried playing it back. I scrolled to the end of one of the files, and suddenly the video paused, the screen went blank, and and the computer screen threw up a BSOD message, something about a video driver issue. Is this anything to do with the codec pack, or did microsoft throw in an update that screwed up my dvd playback options?

I would guess this to be a hardware issue.
replace the dvd drive.

Funny thing, i tried playing it back in my home dvd player and the first video was skipping.This was the first file I tried playing back in my laptop dvd drive, on top of the fact it was a dvd rw disk. I cleaned it off, put it back in my home dvd player, and it worked fine. Other homemade dvds seem to work fine on my laptop. So, could it have been the fact the dvd was dirty, and caused the BSOD?

a BSOD is at a minimum, driver related.
If not driver related, then hardware related. (never codec related)
a dirty dvd = a hardware issue.

erasable disks are the most troublesome.
