mp4 playback stutters in media center
hy there,
I just tried to play some mp4 files (h264 video and aac audio) with the ms windows 7 media center. The playback stutters about every 10 to 30 seconds. When I try playing the file directly in the windows media player there's no stuttering - I don't really know why ![]() I tried to change the aac audio settings on the SWAP tab but the program tells me to restart using administrative rights to be able to change the settings. Unfortunately I already launched it as admin. Below I attached my settings. If you need any more information just tell me. |

RE: mp4 playback stutters in media center
Having UAC disabled is a problem. Please re-enable it for the settings to function correctly.
Rightclick the settings application shortcut and choose Run as administrator use the Reset All button. On the H264 TAB, selecer Divx's codec on the righthand side. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software
Default UAC settings are required for my software to function properly |

I did the reset the way you describe above but there was still the message that I have to use administrative right. After that I reinstalled the codec pack and set to use the Divx codec. Unluckily there's no change in the playback ... still stuttering. If I try changing the aac codec he wants me to restart using administrative rights. Is there anything wrong with the installation? |

I tried the same on my notebook and there it works perfectly. I think there's something wrong with my user accunt on my desktop pc. I will create a new user and try it again later. Changing the aac codec to use FFD fixed the stuttering problems. Thank you. I will tell you if it works on my desktop as well. |

There is no one set of configurations that will work for everyone. Once you have settings that work for you i also suggest you get familiar with the Save/Restore options of the MISC TAB. If UAC is turned OFF, please uninstall my software
