your mpeg situation is quite strange.
On the Misc TAB is a button to [analyze a media file] please use the button on one of those failing mpegs and post the results here. |

It shows the first video frame and stops. Here is the data from "analyze"

On the Misc TAB, choose to disable the LAV splitter... see if that helps
still failing? since this file is only 18MB, could you upload it to mediafire.com, grab the download url and post it here so that I can test it. |

mediafire.com doesn't like IE 9 and it complains when compatibility mode is pressed.
