playing cook/rmvb file in WMC 64bit
I know that there is no 64bit codec for rmvb yet and WMC uses 64bit.. in windows 7 64bit.
But is there a way to make this work beside install 32bit OS? What about converting rmvb to .mkv using MetaFox or something similar? I tried metafox and it did convert but the new mkv still has no sound.. |

misenlai:
I try several prog to resolve converting the file ...All Have problems to convert rmvb files audio and frame rate, but now I´m using Media Coder 64 and works fine (5 for 10). Because the player its 32 bits. Of course you can use the 32 bits version, so Media Coder 64 is more faster (w CUDA option) and better. |

RE: playing cook/rmvb file in WMC 64bit
Only way to get around this is by converting the file to x64 compatible formats.
As said by MarkIVMLM, this is possible, but not very convenient. Nonetheless this is the only possible way to get the audio working in Windows Media Center, at the moment. OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64

RE: playing cook/rmvb file in WMC 64bit
Hi misenlai,
I completely overlooked your last reply, sorry about that. Quote:is there a software out there that could do this? what .64x compatible format are you suggesting? Well, as I said previously, there is no easy way to accomplish real media conversions, at least not that I know of. Note that the only real media files I have in my possession, is samples, and I usually don't work with such files, but if I ever had to convert a real media file, I would probably do it, using the method described in this guide. Again, not very convenient. Personally, I would rather wait for a x64 real audio codec to be released, and until then, just use WMP 32-bit for playback. I'll leave it up to you to decide, what to do from here.
OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
