problem skipping in MP4 files
ok so i'm watching an mp4 file of ~1.7 gigs,
and all along the video i'm using the "jump forward" and "jump backwards" buttons (left & right keys). although usually these keys jump 5 seconds (this is what I want), in THIS mp4 file, which is not the first one, it jumps ~10 seconds! so i also tried using the "small jump" buttons after assigning them to a certain key, but the video still skips ~10 seconds! how can I fix this? thanks. |

RE: problem skipping in MP4 files
I can find no dependence of the "jump time" of the video format, it is in WMV, MKV, TS, M2TS, MPG, 4MP... always constant!
Maybe you can upload us a sample of your "MP4 problem videos" for testing. AMD A6-3650 with HD6530 graphics * XP MCE 2005, Windows 7 x86 + x64 + 8 x64 * PowerDVD 12 + 13 |

RE: problem skipping in MP4 files
I tried several MP4 files around 1.5GB size, but it is always jumping the set 5 seconds. As HD-False mentioned, a sample would help.

RE: problem skipping in MP4 files
ok so i had the 40MB sample made, though it doesn't play...
I've uploaded it anyways. the full video is: "UFC.148.Silva.vs.Sonnen.II.HDTV.x264-EViLCREW.mp4", and when I come to think of it, the jumping problem ALWAYS happens in every UFC video I download, BUT NOT ON EVERY CLICK. (it happens approx once in 3 times or so when I press the right or left arrow keys). Thanks. RE: problem skipping in MP4 files
I can not play the sample with any player (MPC-HC, VLC, WMP 12 ...) and not with any other program to convert or open?

RE: problem skipping in MP4 files
No thanks, I'm not using such sources!
Have you ever tried to produce with Metafox or MKVtoolnix a MKV from your problem MP4? AMD A6-3650 with HD6530 graphics * XP MCE 2005, Windows 7 x86 + x64 + 8 x64 * PowerDVD 12 + 13 |

RE: problem skipping in MP4 files
I will download it and check it, but it will take a while.
Hmm... downloaded. The file plays fine. Try to update your Shark win7codecs and also MPC-HC. Then reset the settings. The 5 sec jumps are set as default if I am not mistaken. My filter chain is shown in the screenshot. (You can check it by right-click MPC-HC video screen and selecting "Filters" option).
