it appears my googlemail turning to gmail messed things up although i thought it was an email address i used to use. thank for sorting.. well its been a while... just updated all shark codecs..(i remember getting a bit of a telling off once on ere) lol
any way.. i used to have a hd radeon card but now my son has it... so long story short what should my onkyo607 pick up on via toslink with a truhd sample... m2ts i think its only showing all ch st when its played... thanks again.. its been a while weve moved house and 12months later after the media build, my gear is back up and running... my dts 5.1 switches over no problems... ive donated for all the hard work.. good to be back on all the forums... cheers |

RE: thanks shark
toslink cannot carry a truehd signal. You need HDMI to transport that signal.
On the Audio TAB you should be selecting AC3/DTS only ( SPDIF/Coax) by doing the above, truehd will be decoded on the PC instead of the receiver and send multichannel pcm audio to the receiver for playback. |

RE: thanks shark
the receiver should show multi channel pcm or lpcm. (all channel stereo may be correct for your hardware)
I have never owned such hardware so I'm only working on acquired knowledge here. you MAY also need to change the Control Panel | Sound properties for your active device to 5.1 instead of stereo. A 'stereo' setting is usually required to send DTS and AC3 (dolby) to the receiver for decoding |

I have an onkyo 609 and use hdmi
I think your system is already working properly by the sound of your descriptions your 607 has hdmi inputs - you should consider upgrading your video card to something that handles HD audio. these cards can be had for under $50 - all AMD 5xxx and higher - with Nvidia, best do the research 1st |
