vista 64 3.6.8 help!

hey sharky! just want to start off by saying thank you for all your hard work and dedication.

So i've installed your codec package for 32bit with the 64bit addon, and my interest is getting my xbox to play these mkv files. I've done ALOT of browsing help topics and threads and so on and i've found that i need to uncheck the "Disable the DivX media foundation..." in the mkv tab. Let me just say that YES i am running as administrator, and the issue is that when i uncheck that box and close the settings, the box has been rechecked when i OPEN the settings. For some reason, it won't stay unchecked, what do i do?!

ah i see now that that option is only for windows 7, but since i'm running windows vista, is there something else that i need to do to watch .mkv's on my xbox?

you cant do it with Vista.


also know, it is broken in current releases of the Win7codecs, version 359 works
I am working on fixing it.

ah so it's broken, thank god i've been going CRAZY lol. so where can i download the old verison? also, do i need to download the old 32b version also or just hte 64 addon.

on 64bit OS's you still need to have the 32bit codecs installed.
you can use a current release of the 32bit codecs and get v359 of the x64Components HERE (url removed)
It will not work on Vista. You must use Windows 7 for this to work.

sharky while installing hte old version of the x64 after i uninstalled hte old one (both as admin) i keep getting an error,

"Error creating registry key:
(key name)

failed; code 5
access is denied.

maybe that installer is corrupt. Try using v359 from HERE
