RE: About Icaros - Shark007 - 03-12-2014

I suggest that you uninstall that version, go to the 1st post of this thread and grab the 2.3.0 Alpha
Install that and you'll have this interface...

RE: About Icaros - Tiffany - 03-12-2014

2.3.0 alpha 2 now and it still doesn't work. I cleared the cache and restarted the explorer.

edit: Setting it to "Most Known" rather than "Custom" fixed it somehow even though it already had the extensions of the file types that weren't working. That's weird... Oh well, at least it works now!

edit: Also as a small suggestion... | & O aren't very obvious which one turns it on and which turns it off, so you might wanna change it to ON/OFF... just my opinion.

Does Icaros read cover art in MKV - danhi - 04-10-2014

Does Icaros read the attachments tag in an MKV file to display the cover art. And how about MP4 and WMV files?

Yep, Icaros can read and show cover art for all of these filetypes.
There is an option in IcarosConfig to enable embedded cover art.

RE: About Icaros - Xanashi - 04-23-2014

RE: About Icaros - Xanashi - 04-23-2014

And here is another build.
This will be a short post, but I will give some more info on the alpha branches, once I'm slightly less tired. :)

Here is v. 2.2.5, with a lot of smaller fixes, an FFmpeg update,
and one small new feature, which has been requested from time to time.

[Icaros v.2.2.5 Beta 1]
- Added the possibility of setting a timestamp offset
- Fixed thumbnailing of images with invalid orientation tag
- Fixed SWF Content Type
- Fixed and improved consecutive calls to thumbnail provider (related to thirdparty file managers)
- Improved filetype registration
- IcarosConfig now displays the proper version number
- Spring cleaning of code and project files
- Many minor fixes and improvements
- Updated FFmpeg

Icaros 2.2.5 Beta 1 Installer: Download
Icaros 2.2.5 Beta 1 Portable: Download

[Notes]
The timestamp offset is optional. If it is not set, the usual percentage offset is used instead.

I haven't added the timestamp offset option to IcarosConfig yet, but it can be set via the following registry key:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Icaros]
"TimeOffset"=dword:00002710

Where the value is time in milliseconds.
If the timestamp is larger than the duration of a file, then the offset will fall back to the percentage offset.

RE: About Icaros - Schroff87 - 04-23-2014

Hi Xanashi, I had emailed you recently about some trouble with Windows 8.1 update, which version of Icaros do you recommend I try out?

Hi Schroff87,
I haven't forgotten about your report, it is the next entry on my schedule.
I just needed to get these releases out first.

However, you're welcome to try out 2.2.5 and see if it makes a difference.
