no 3gp sound - tomprice - 01-24-2012 05:39 PM
Thank you for this great product. In Win7codecs, I have a small problem. In 3.4.0 if I install shark007 codecs, 3gp files have sound. If I open the shark007 codecs program sound stops working until I "repair installation" then it works fine. If I start the shark007 codecs application again sound stops working again. Video always plays.

choosing to disable UAC can cause weird things to occur.
This statement not only applies to my codecs, but to your entire system.
Uninstall the codecs, set UAC to the 'Default' setting and reboot your computer.
re-install the codecs - rightclick the settings application shortcut and choose, Run as Administrator
test.

It is on default already. I just spent mostof yesterday afternoon studying UAC. I did not mess with it. I did migrate from Vista and had to reset ownership on my old files though. The codecs were not installed until today. I will try deinstalling and reinstalling.

Since UAC is not the problem, the active audio decoder probably is.
On the Audio TAB, click the button to [disable LAV audio]

That did it. I am a codec newby please explain LAV.

OK 3gp works now but mpeg does not until I reset LAV, then 3gp does not. Is there a way to get them both to work?

After choosing to disable LAV audio, go to the SWAP TAB and set FFDshow for MP2/3 (upper right)

No change. MPEG has no video or audio still when 3gp works.
