mp3 with Dolby Pro II Music, etc. - simpledisaster - 02-16-2012 09:00 AM Hey there, I am using an Onkyo TX-NR509 AVR connected to my PC on which I installed the shark007 32bit software and reclock. Using the suggested settings with a few extra "checks" I managed to now run every format I like to use (.mkv, .avi, .mp3, etc.) and also with the correct decoder (dts, dts-hd on .mkv's and so on... You know what I mean). [Pass-Through] My problem: When I want to play an .mp3 flipping through the Onkyo's channls I can not use Pro Logic II Music/Movie Neo Cinema. It's the same when I want to watch a vid on Youtube. I can not change to these channels. Instead I am offered a "MultiCH". So I tried to check the box "use ffdshow for mp2/3 instead of Microsoft". It worked for my .mp3 files, so I was able to chose those mentioned channels. However, there wasn't any sound using Youtube and those players. I would appreciate any help regarding my problem because I don't like to always reset my settings just when I want to watch a video :-) best regards! simpledisaster RE: mp3 with Dolby Pro II Music, etc. - Shark007 - 02-16-2012 09:20 AM The only suggestion I can think of is to disable the Microsoft Audio decoder on the SWAP TAB (but you have probably done this already) RE: mp3 with Dolby Pro II Music, etc. - simpledisaster - 02-16-2012 09:25 AM (02-16-2012 09:20 AM)Shark007 Wrote: The only suggestion I can think of is to disable the Microsoft Audio decoder on the SWAP TAB Thank you for your quick response! Yes, it was already disabled. I assume it has something to do with PCM but I can't figure out what... RE: mp3 with Dolby Pro II Music, etc. - simpledisaster - 02-17-2012 04:13 AM I found out that the vids on the internet are then being send to the "Realtek Digital Output" instead of the "AMD HDMI Output", which is weird because I don't have my Realtek Digital Output connected to anything.. Does anyone has any thoughts regarding my sound-problem? Thank you! RE: mp3 with Dolby Pro II Music, etc. - simpledisaster - 02-17-2012 07:03 AM I will reply on my own thread again ;-) somehow I managed to work it out now.. I don't quite know what it was right now, but after reinstalling everything (shark, reclock), cleaning my registry, restarting every component a lot and stuff it works. The only thing that doesn't work out yet is playing online videos with those Dolby and Neo Decoders. But they work fine with All CH, etc. which used to be my problem in the first place. Final question: Does anyone know how these online vids (such as Youtube) are coded? If anyone has a similar problem I can provide the settings. RE: mp3 with Dolby Pro II Music, etc. - SoWErA - 03-24-2012 04:47 AM Hi I am unable to get PL II to activate on my reciever when I play mp3 files I tried both winamp and vlc as players. I am able to get PL II, DD and DTS when playing video files that are DD or DTS with 2 or more channels. I have tried the suggested settings in this thread. Do anyone got any more idea's that I can try to get the PL II option on my Onkyo tx-nr509 reciever? I am using Shark007 3.5.5 of both 32bit and 64bit install. Hey SoWEra, try activating "Use FFDshow for mp2/3 instead instead of Microsoft". Also you can try activating "StandAlone Mp3 splitter". Worked fine with me. However, I noticed that those channels such as PL II are pretty crappy. I experienced All Channels or Studio-Mix as the most powerful and having the best sound quality. But see for youself ;-) cheers! Have you tried using those options while playing a mp3 with the Windows Media Player? The VLC uses its own codecs.
