No Video AVI - erothvt - 04-17-2012 06:59 AM I am having issues getting my avi file to play video, it plays audio just fine. I am using the recommended settings in a Windows 8 environment. GSpot says I have the codec installed (xvid) but when I test the video codec in gspot I get some errors: Failed to connect output pin 0x0d6bc8dc ('Video Output 1') on Microsoft DTV-DVD Video decoder to input pin 0x05fadab4 ('XForm In') on filter 0x08a8799f (Intel IYUV codec').ConnnectDirect() failed. Error: 0x80040207 And: Failed to Create instance of Mpeg4s Decoder DMO. Any ideas on what is going on? RE: No Video AVI - Shark007 - 04-17-2012 07:20 AM Disable the DMO codecs on the SWAP TAB RE: No Video AVI - erothvt - 04-17-2012 08:01 AM (04-17-2012 07:20 AM)Shark007 Wrote: Disable the DMO codecs on the SWAP TAB Should I be doing this in the x64 settings or the normal settings. It seems to do nothing in the x64 settings but when I make the change in the normal settings gspot is giving me the same errors and media player is now crashing complaining about the lav codec I believe. RE: No Video AVI - HD-False - 04-17-2012 02:15 PM WMP 12 uses the Windows 8 Codecs and settings (W8CP), Windows 8 Media Center (MC8) the 64 Bit codecs and settings (X64C). Because in W8CP in Windows x64 LAV is only available, you could test it with the Windows 7 Codecs (W7CP 3.6.0). But first deinstall X64C then W8CP and then reininstall W7CP and X64C 3.6.0. After installing the windows 7 codecs and using default settings both WMP and MC both crashed, so I tried disabling DMO and using the FFDshows codec for xvid I get video to show but now no audio. I tried to disable the lav audio codec but still no audio..... RE: No Video AVI - Shark007 - 04-18-2012 06:39 AM The AVI may contain h264 (avc) video. You can use the tool on the Misc TAB [ Analyze a media file] to know the exact contents. If it is H264 video, go to the H264 TAB of the 64bit app and try the mpc codec LAV is the default setting for H264 but doesnt work so well on Win8 Media Cneter. |
