Little trouble with some games - coolzire - 04-25-2012 10:34 AM I am a avid player of the fallout 3 and fallout new vegas and recently reinstalled window on a bigger hard drive on my laptop. I ran into issue where the in-game radio. Before the win7 codec i had no issue and after removing them the radio worked again. Both game are listed as dont use in ffdshow setting. The actual sound file appear to be mp3. I remember having no issue before while using an older version of win7 codec. The issue occur with or without the x64 component. I have win7 64 bit Professional and i mostly use the codec for thumbnail. Is there another codec that could potentially interfere with the games? -olivier RE: Little trouble with some games - Shark007 - 04-26-2012 07:35 AM ffdshow is known to cause problems with this game. you should 1st check Control Panel | Programs and Features to see if ffdshow is listed. If it is listed, uninstall it followed by using the [Reset All] button in the Settings Application. 2nd, search the \Windows folder for ffdshow.ax if it exists delete it and reboot your system test at tthis point - still having problems? on the Misc TAB is a checkbox to disable ffdshow completely test again RE: Little trouble with some games - coolzire - 04-27-2012 02:23 PM Thank you for your suggestion, I tried both of them and the problem was still there. I didn't notice those disable button earlier so i tried the other one. Disabling Lav splitter fixed my issue with ffdshow enabled. After further thinkering I unchecked mp2,mp3 and wav from the lav splitter window and everything is working fine. Look like ffdshow isnt the issue this time. |
