Xbox 360 Extender - adrian17471 - 01-27-2013

Hello, I'm having a problem with .mkv files that have ac3 audio these movies start skipping during playback on the xbox 360 extender. A few months ago all my mkv files worked fine with ac3 5.1 surround sound. Any idea whats going on? Thank you.

RE: Xbox 360 Extender - Shark007 - 01-27-2013

what version of Windows? 7? 8? is it 64bit? (Windows 8 is better concerning Extender support)
what version of my software is installed?
Did you modify the installation during install?
links to current releases are on the Setup and usage page

choose to use the [x] SUGGESTED settings and answer YES to the LiveTV question.

THINGS NOT TO DO:
Did you install AC3Filter?
Did you install anything from Divx?

all audio formats such as TrueHD, DTS/MA Vorbis are converted to AC3 for Extender playback
Many video formats are supported. Such as FLV, EVO, MKV, OGM etc.

General Troubleshooting
close Media Center on the Extender before making changes
press [Reset All] - test with no other changes - need more help?
go to the MKV TAB and try selecting the 'Alternate' setting for Extenders.
Read here About filetypes such as mkv on the Xbox 360
test again

I have the latest version installed.
I am running win7 32-bit with your 32bit win7codecs software, No i did not modify the installation, Yes i unchecked Dvix MF splitter.
I uninstalled Divx and AC3 filter before installing your software.
I just noticed that movies that are 720p ac3 don't stutter during playback, But on the movies that are 1080p ac3 they do stutter.

Is the xbox using a Wireless connection?
If so, this problem may be solved with a Cat5e cable instead of connecting wirelessly.

It's all wired no wireless, But i do have two routers plus a modem connected all together. I will try to connect my pc & xbox to just one router and see if that works i will let you know.

RE: Xbox 360 Extender - Shark007 - 01-28-2013

Another possible cause is if the mkv contains subtitles and/or chapters.
mkvtoolnix (mmg.exe) can be used to remove these without remuxing

This could be the problem because the two movies that had subtitles stuttered, and the other movies that did not have subtitles didn't stutter during playback. I will try this mkvtoolnix to remove the subtitles and hopefully it works Thanks.

The problem was the subtitles not the chapters. After removing the subtitles with mkvtoolnix all my .MKV movies are working Perfect with 1080p 5.1 Dolby Digital Surround Sound.
Thanks Shark007 for all the help i really appreciate it.
