Hello.

First of all, thanks a lot Shakr for the work you do with these codecs. They are pretty much the best I've used so far with so many awesome features that you offer with them, like Icaros and the media conversion tool. Truly the best codec package.

I'm having a small issue with the player you provide (MPC-BE) and probably the renderer used by it (I'm no expert, but I think this could be the issue).

Whenever I take a screenshot of a video that has subtitles (it can be either .ssa or .srt ones, doesn't matter), the screenshot itself doesn't show said subtiles in the end, only capturing the image of the video alone. From what I've found, this is caused by the video renderer as it doesn't take into account the subtitles rendered in the video. Apparently, madVR doesn't present this issue and can actually take screenshots with subtitles without problems.

Now, I've downloaded your advanced codec pack along with the pre-configured MPC-BE version found on your website, and based on the description it already comes with madVR integrated, but the configuration menu on MPC-BE shows that madVR is not actually installed. Also, I can confirm I downloaded your version and not the one found on the repo for MPC-BE. I've also re-installed everything fresh and madVR is still not there. I'm attaching a pic with the menu to show how madVR is not installed.

How could I solve this issue? I want to be able to take screenshots and, if there are subtitles, for them to show on said screenshots, even if I have to use another video renderer (again, this could be the issue, but maybe not). Should I install madVR separately without affecting your codecs?

Thanks again. ^^

madVR is becoming a commercial product (paid) so I stopped carrying it.

You are correct that the default renderer used by the player I distribute is the reason for the missing subtitles in the screenshot.
You can change that to Enhanced Video Renderer (Custom Presenter) to fix that.

You can also choose to install madVR yourself even though the current release is over 2 years old and the next release will cost $ you.

Ah, I see.
I've tested the renderer you mentioned and now the screenshots are taken with the subtitles. Thanks a lot for this.

Nothing much we can do about madVR going commercial (and it seems Envy is pretty much a PC now from what I saw). Luckily, there are alternatives that work practically the same, at least for me.

Thanks again for the help, and for the work you do. Really appreciated.

Cheers. ^^
