Hello Shark007.
I've been using your famous advanced codecs packs version 64-bit (currently advanced codecs portable 64-bit) for at least 6 years now, but right now I have this issue with the latest update - 14.8.6.
I don't know why I'm getting a trojan (blocking) warning from Windows Defender Suite (Windows 10 Pro 64-Bit V.20H2)

Program:Win32/Wacapew.C!ml
A threat was removed or an application of this device
Details: This program has a potentially unwanted behavior.

Could be may an temporal issue with this specific release?.
Sorry if my English is not very good
Thanks.

It is going to take some time until the virus people get used to the new update feature.
It is setting off many scanners as a trojan.

Here is a simple tool to turn Windows Defender off and on at will. Defender Control (no installer)
If you use your own private scanner, you will need to temporarily disable it to get the update installed and then tell it to ignore the installation directory.

In version x.x.6.17 I have added detection for a failed update and a message to inform the user that their Virus scanner may be responsible.
