Have been a long time user of Shark007 codecs and have recently needed to update them to allow for subtitles to appear on some videos encoded in H265.  Whenever i update them it breaks the timeshifting rew/fwd functionality on my Windows 7 Ultimate Media Centre x64. The screen stutters, goes black and hangs, only when using the rewind button, not the skip back button which hops back maybe 10 seconds. Today i uninstalled all Shark007 codecs.  Removed all ffdshow codecs as well and got it to a clean state and checked timeshiftimg worked correctly in Media Centre.
I then installed the latest Shark007x64 Advanced pack and see the issue when rewinding.  Hitting the stop button to stop playing Live TV and then selecting the channel again brings it back to playing normally, until you hit the rewind button again.  I tried using the Suggested settings as well as the Reset option but nothing rectified it.
I then uninstalled Shark007x64 Advanced codecs and now when i go into Media Centre and try to watch TV i see an error about the decoder having an error.  Reboot didn't help, however reinstalling Shark007 again then gives access back to watching TV but still suffers from the fast rewind issue.  Have thought it could be related to video card drivers too but they are up to date and the issue occurs when updating the Shark007 codecs.

I have multiple backups and can roll back to various states of it working prior to updating the codecs.  The updated codecs do fix the issue with subtitles on the video files using the newer codecs. I was wondering what i could do to start troubleshooting the issue.  Any ideas would be great, such as what would get changed as part of the install.  I thought it was possible to always revert to the orginal settings?

Try toggling the SUGGESTED settings depending on your viewing material.
Have it disabled for LiveTV, and enabled (checked) for any other viewing.

Have tried using the SUGGESTED settings but to no avail.  The only Live TV settings i see are to disable Microsoft's Audio/Video Decoder.  These don't get checked when using the suggested checkbox.

Is there any way i can see what codecs are in use when viewing live TV?

LiveTV requires the Microsoft Video Decoder.
It doesn't work at all with any other decoder.

Unfortunately this doesn't help with troubleshooting the issue.  Is there any way to manually update files/registry to allow for newer codecs to be used. I have identified 2 new files which are dropped as part of the update.
C:\Program Files\Shark007\MPC-BE64\madVR\XySubFilter64.dll
C:\Program Files\Shark007\MPC-BE64\MpcImageSource64.ax

Am just trying to simply update the codec without breaking anything else.

It seems to already be broken. For this reason, I'd suggest deleting the saved settings and uninstalling to get perfectly clean.
Those 2 files do get installed when using the x64ComponentsPM installer. (which I assume is what you are using here)
After installation, with no changes, test LiveTV.
If thats all good, procced to configure it to have Media Center handle your other files.
Start with disabling Media Foundation for specific filetypes. Do not disable it Globally

I do have it in a state where no Shark007 codecs are installed, or any other codec pack.  Live TV rewind is working perfectly, but no mkv support and no H265 support.  When installing the STANDARD x64ComponentsPM v1022 is when the issue arises with the rewinding.  Toggling the LiveTV settings don't help with restoring it back to the way it was working before.  If i could figure out which part of the install causes this then i could look at backing up that setting/file so i could restore it after the install.

It has the same 64bit codecs but without the player, madvr, image proccessor, and mpc renderer.

That's what i am installing - for 64bit as am trying to get this working in Media Centre.  Are you suggesting to install the 32 bit codecs as per the link you posted?

yes, it already has the 64bit codecs too. you dont need the 2nd installer.
