Shark007 Codecs always updates VSFilter to the latest 64-bit version, but I sometimes need the 32-bit VSFilter. Where can I download it?

AV1 playback in WMP

I tried to play AV1 videos in WMP (with default settings), but no luck (see attachments).
After few seconds with audio only, WMP stops with error.

MPC-BE locks out three finger touchpad gestures?

Not sure if anyone's encountered this with custom mouse configs on MPC-BE, but when I have middle click and wheel set for media controls three finger gestures on Win10 no longer register while MPC-BE is open. If anyone's come across this I'd love to know if you've figured out what setting does this

No thumbnail for flv

No thumbnail appears for flv files.
flv is included in the list of filetypes; I tried to deactivate reactivate Icaros; also to deactivate reactivate thumbnailing inside Icaros.

Firefox issue playing videos

Hi,

After ticking the checkbox "WMP suggested settings" Firefox starts having issues playing videos. The error message on Firefox is generic, just says the video can't be played.

YouTube is not the only site with this problem, that's just an easy example.
I read that ticking that checkbox will cause problems with the Windows Store, and the Movies and TV program, but I didn't expect to have issues with Firefox. I have used SharkCodecs for years before, and it used to work fine.

Is this expected behaviour? Is it a bug?
Is there a way to play all files with Windows Media Player, and have Firefox working normally at the same time?

Best settings to get 2-Channel AC3 audio from DTS 5.1/7.1 files using Windows 11? Samsung TV does not support DTS, ARC audio device only supports 2.0 AC3.

Is there a way using WMP legacy w subs and media Player app interchangeably

Hi,

AFAIK only way to show subs when playing mkv, mp4 etc.. is disabling Media Foundation so WMP legacy able to show subtitles.
But doing this breaks Media Player app.

I want to use WMP legacy for subtitled movies and Media Player app for listening music.
any other option to play files on WMP legacy with subtitles without breaking Media Player app.

As if I disable media foundation it breaks Media Player app, if not disabled MF then WMP legacy doesn't show the subtitles.

No GUI when running launcher

Stable diffusion and SharkCodecs Error

I have been using your tools for many years without issues so well done for the fantastic tools you provide.

I have recently started looking at an AI application called Stable-diffusion.

I create it in a folder on the C:AI directory. It also uses Git and Python 3.10.6

The problem is that as soon as I launch the launcher64.exe: C:\Codecs\Shark007Codecs\Launcher64.exe
the desktop icons appears to refresh (even before running reset option) the process for Stable Diffusion is broken:

Seems to affect the permissions of the C:AI folder or somehow screws up the python pip stuff..

When I first installed Stable-diffusion it just never worked. Spent a week trying to look at permissions and Python and PIP's. lol.
Its only cus I did a clean install - I got it to work. Then it failed - so I worked backwards to find out what it was causing the issue.

I am running Windows 11 24H2 Build 26100.2152

Any help on this would be greatly appreciated.

Subtitles and HDR

Greetings!

Today "something" ( dunno what ) happened that not only messed with my Thumbnail generation but also the ability to have Subtitles ( wouldn't automatically show up and were greyed out as if not present ) when playing MKVs using MPC-BE(64) so I updated both it and the Codecs to where both now work again.

Eeeeexcept for Subtitles now looking hella wonky when played on MPC-BE...

Brainstorming a bit on it I figured the culprit might be the HDR System Settings and indeed disabling HDR would indeed solve it but I preferred it working like before "whatever" happened thus being able to leave HDR enabled with watchable Subtitles ( kinda hard to read if they're that dark ) 😅

Below a Screengrab with HDR enabled though in reality the picture is not what it looks like on TV - The actual Content would look just like the above image but the Subtitles were like 50% dark instead of pure white.

LAV Codec configuration dialogs do not open

Hallo,

since the last update I got the issue, that the dialogs for configuring LAV codecs do not open anymore. Instead I keep getting an error messag claiming for a missing "lavvideo.ax" file, which exists in the filters folder (see screenshot attached). LAVVideo is just taken as example. It is the same with LAVAudio and LAVSplitter. "Configure Subtitls" throws an "VSFilter64.dll not found.". I did not test every button, so there might be more.

I'm running the package on Windows 11 24H2 (Build 26100.2033) x64.

What I tested (all steps as "Administrator") :

1. I checked on windows NTFS permissions but these are fine.

2. Start from a clean 17.5 package
- I used the button "Remove All" within the Help sheet
- I removed the entire package folder at c:\Program Files\ADVANCED_64bitCodecs

3. To be sure that NTFS permissions are out of scope I tried to start a clean 17.5 package from c:\temp\ADVANCED_64bitCodecs
- This gave me the error message "You must maintain the original file and folder structure!"
-- Seems to me that "Remove All" is not working properly.

4. Extracted 17.5 package to a clean c:\Program Files\ADVANCED_64bitCodecs (after repeating steps of 2.)
- GUI is showing up. LAV confguration pages are openening and working.
- Enabled AutoUpdate from Help sheet
-- A error message is rising with "Windows Defender may have blocked the download. [...] Do you want to update Windows Defendet and try again?" -> klick on 'yes'
--- An other error message is shown with "c:\Program Files\ADVANCED_64bitCodecs\Tools\temp\temp.cmd is not found" (screenshot attached)
--- The update is running and downloading the new Application and the codecs, so this seams to work anyhow
- After the new Application is started (currently version 18.7.7) , I get the same error message for missing "lavvideo.ax"

5. Extracted 17.5 package to a clean c:\Program Files\ADVANCED_64bitCodecs (after repeating steps of 2.)
- before I enabled the AutoUpdate, I created the folder ".\Tools\temp" manually
- the update works without any error message and the gui starting Application (currently version 18.7.7)
- I still get the same error message for missing "lavvideo.ax"

Unfortunatelly I do not know since when this issue is happening because I'm not updating the package that often. I would like to know what I have to do, to be able to move the package folder somewhere else. And of cuase, I like to know if there is something else that can be done to make it work from my side.

Update:
Opening the LAV configuration from an other programm that is using the codecs like MPC-HC is working. So I think the issue is related to the ADVANCED Codecs Pack GUI.

Audio pitch is excessively high when increasing playback rate

I hope this is the correct place to post. I'm using MPC-BE along with Shark007 Codecs and I'm not sure where the issue lies. Other than setting file associations and the steps at which playback rate is adjusted in MPC-BE, all settings on both are at the default values.

When I increase the playback rate of a video file in MPC-BE the audio becomes incredibly high pitched, much like if the people talking had inhaled helium. I know what you're thinking - but I'm only increasing to a playback rate of 1.1x or 1.2x, not 2.00x or 3.00x etc where one might expect the audio to sound a lot higher. Is there a setting somewhere I need to switch? I've been watching/listening to things at slightly higher speed using other apps and websites for years now, and this doesn't happen with any of them. So while it's not expected behaviour for me, I'm not sure if this is expected behaviour for MPC-BE et al.

Other observations:

- The audio remains in sync with the video
- It affects all file types I've tried - MP4, Matroska, AVI

Unable to open on the 1st run

tried Launcher64.exe and this is the first run.
However, the launcher, tools\Settings64_portable, and commandline "Settings64_portable" reset did not work.
all my attempts lead to a single popup that said: you must maintain the original file and folder structure, and it's very confusing.
I'm pretty sure I haven't changed/moved anything in the zip archive.
Currently I'm using win11.
